MUSE 207. Collaborative Piano I. 0.25 Units.
This beginner course, designed for piano majors in their second year of study, develops the skills necessary for successful collaboration with other musicians. Students will engage in rehearsing and performing repertoire with vocalists, enhancing their technical, musical, and interpersonal skills in an ensemble setting. Specifically, students will collaborate in lessons, studio classes, master classes, juries, recitals, and other performance settings, as assigned by the instructor of record based on students’ individual artistic strengths. Restrictions: Restricted to sophomores; permission of instructor and dean.

This intermediate course, designed for piano majors in their third year of study, continues to develop the skills necessary for successful collaboration with other musicians. Students will engage in rehearsing and performing repertoire with vocalists, enhancing their technical, musical, and interpersonal skills in an ensemble setting. Specifically, students will collaborate in lessons, studio classes, master classes, juries, recitals, and other performance settings, as assigned by the instructor of record based on students’ individual artistic strengths. Prerequisite: MUSE 207, Juniors only, Permission of instructor and dean required. This course could be repeated for credit.

Students will engage in rehearsing and performing repertoire with vocalists, enhancing their technical, musical, and interpersonal skills in an ensemble setting. Specifically, students will collaborate in lessons, studio classes, master classes, juries, recitals, and other performance settings, as assigned by the instructor of record based on students’ individual artistic strengths. Prerequisite: MUSE 307, Senior standing, permission of instructor and dean.
