Most Stetson University courses award grades at the end of the course. Some courses are offered regularly that are credited on a Pass/Fail basis. In addition, students may elect to take as Pass/Fail two courses that normally award a grade. A student choosing to exercise this option must do so through completion of a Pass/Fail form in the Office of the Registrar by the deadline for dropping a course without academic penalty (see the Academic Calendar for the specific date for each semester). No changes to the Pass/Fail election may be made after this established deadline.
The Pass/Fail option may not be used for major, minor, or Foundation courses, or for Junior Seminars. In addition, the Pass/Fail option may be restricted in specific courses, as determined by a College/School or University curriculum committee. Passing the course awards credits to the student but has no bearing on cumulative GPA. Failing the course awards no credits but does effect the cumulative GPA of the student.
